He will be spending his Diwali in the U.S., with a purpose. He will be holding a special screening of his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par at the International Dyslexia Association’s annual conference to be held in Seattle. In his blog he explains,”“For some reason every Diwali night I feel very peaceful, I think it’s the effect of the ‘diyas’. But this time on Diwali I am traveling to the U.S., Seattle first and then L.A. The International Dyslexia Association is having its annual conference in Seattle and they have decided to screen TZP there, and have invited me for the screening. Looking forward to that.”Aamir is also mighty excited about the first promo of Ghajini that was unveiled on Tuesday.Talking about which he says, “The first moving picture (promo) of Ghajini is breaking soon. It’s my first real action thriller, and full on mainstream entertainer in a long time. I’m nervous already talking about it.”About the first look poster featuring his six pack abs, Aamir says, “Actually I could have gotten into better shape. Had to stop training during the release of TZP, so, lost a month and a half there. But it was impossible for me to train through that period. And I was also a little careless with my diet around that time. Grrr. How I wish I had found the mental strength to keep at.
”Aamir had recently also been invited by princess Victoria of Sweden on her Mumbai visit. Revealing about his dinner meet, Aamir says, “Well it was a real pleasure meeting her. She is a very charming lady. She is beautiful, intelligent, dignified, full of good humour and a very warm host. She is also very interested in India. Kiran and I had a lovely evening.”
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has been trying to make amends for a huge mistake by his publicity team, that became a hindrance for a female doctor.We reported last week that on the first look poster for Aamir Khan’s next release Ghajini, a tattoo on Aamir Khan’s biceps had the number of a certain Dr. Surekha Verma. This was a number that was chosen randomly and, as far as Aamir’s publicity team were aware, belonged to no one. However, this was not the case and as soon as people saw the poster they started dialling that number. Dr. Verma was inundated with phone calls from all sorts of people. Says Surekha, “The non-stop frantic calls asking for Aamir had turned vulgar and obscene.” Dr. Verma had to resort to switching off her phone.Now Aamir has come to read about Dr. Verma’s situation and has come up with an ideal way to help her out. Says a source, “On reading about Surekha’s plight, Aamir immediately apologised to the lady via the media. He then got in touch with Surekha. He had a long conversation with her (Surekha), apologised profusely and told her that he understood how inconvenient it must have been for her. He told her that it was not intentional but just an unfortunate coincidence.He wished her Happy Diwali and also assured her that his staff would get in touch with her and provide her with a new phone connection.
Aamir Khan is one perfectionist actor in B-Town who’s been making one meaningful after the other. While his contemporaries have run after superstardom and starred in senseless money making flicks, Aamir has made sure he does his own thing and also stands out!In between he’s also mocked all the high and mighty superstars, in his own intelligent way. Now the buzz is that the actor is set to do something different again by playing a cannibal in his next home production. Apparently Aamir was hunting for an interesting script for a long time and finally zeroed in on the idea of playing a psycho man-eater. Now that’s something really innovative! We’re sure that the others who love to be secure and do the same things again and again wouldn’t have dared to tread an unbeaten track like that. The movie will in all probability be directed by a top director from the South. Looks like after working with A. R. Murugadoss in ‘Ghajini’, Aamir has taken a liking for South directors!
