LG offered a highly lucrative price to Abhishek-Aishwarya to be their brand ambassador for their entire range of products across-the-board. And just when everyone expected that Junior Bachchan would never let the opportunity slip, he refused the offer for the sole reason that he is already endorsing Motorola cellphones. Since, LGs range of products also included cellphones, his endorsing the range would mean being unfaithful to Motorola. And you thought that the stars would do anything to fill in their pockets. How mean! A source close to the Bachchans says, “LG was very keen to have Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to endorse their entire range of products across-the-line. It was an extremely tempting and lucrative offer. But LG’s range of products also included cell-phones. And Abhishek is already endorsing Motorola cellphones. So, he had to decline LG’s offer. But he has received a letter from the company saying they would love to have him and his wife as their brand ambassadors any time they wish.” Abhi-Ash’s next screen appearance would be Mani Ratnam’s film that goes on the floors as soon as Abhishek returns from Miami after filming Karan Johar-Tarun Mansukhani’s ‘Dostana’ with Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.

Abhishek Bachchan on Tuesday evening was in the Capital to hand over the keys of a brand new Porsche Targa to the lucky winner of a contest organised by a credit card company. He posed for the shutterbugs, signed autographs and gave away the keys but with a slightly heavy heart saying, “I feel a bit envious because it’s such a beautiful machine. ”With four releases lined up for 2008, we think Abhishek Bachchan is sure in an envious position. “I am lucky that I am working in a industry in which I can start the year with a film like Sarkar Raj, then go on to Drona, Dilli 6 and finally Dostana. They are all completely different films with different characterisations. Even the genres are different,” says Abhishek. And that brings us to Sarkar Raj, which also stars his father Amitabh Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai. Speaking about the good times they had on the sets, Abhishek says, “A family get together happens everyday but it was wonderful that it got extended on to the sets. It was the first time that the three of us were working together and it was a wonderful experience. We have enjoyed it thoroughly.” In April, Abhishek and Aishwarya will complete a year of matrimony, and the actor describes the year gone by in one word – “beautiful.”
Goldie Behl’s Drona starring Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra has been in the making for some time now. Rumours are rife that the Bachchans are keen for Drona to release before Sarkar Raj which is almost complete. Our sources close to family informs that Amitabh Bachchan wants the fantasy flick in which Abhishek is playing a super hero, to be his next release. It may be recalled here that Drona has taken almost over two years to complete while on the other hand Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj was shot in one start-to-finish schedule in Hyderabad. Let’s see when these two films finally see the light of the day first.
Abhishek Bachchan is no longer the brand ambassador for electronics brand, LG. Official sources say that the actor, who was signed on to represent the company in 2006, has refused to renew his contract. Truth be told, LG dumped him. Sources reveal the reason behind this unceremonious ouster is his demand to include Ash in the contract. A source close to LG reveals the actor laid down a condition that he would continue only if they would work out a dual endorsement deal with Ash. Power couple
The source reveals, “Abhishek and Ash are trying hard to be the power couple in Bollywood. They get loads of offers for deals and endorsements. However, most of the deals don’t work out as they have exorbitant prices and want to get joint endorsements. They tried to take the same approach with LG, but it didn’t work out.” It is learnt that LG is now hunting for a new celeb to strike a deal with. Hopefully, someone single! LG’s business head Anil Arora remained unavailable for comment.
After increasing its stake in the UTV-promoted television channel, Hungama, Walt Disney is all set to make an entry into the Hindi film industry. And their first project seems to be already underway. Sources inform Gullu that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had a long meeting with Disney officials two weeks ago, and they have decided to make a film with her. It will be directed by Mani Ratnam, and may also star Abhishek Bachchan. Ever since Mani Ratnam’s brother, G Srinivasan, died in an accident, his production house, Madras Talkies, has been lying low. Guru (with Aishwarya and Abhishek) was the last film to be produced by Madras Talkies. Mani Ratnam has never ventured out of his family’s production house after it was formed. But now, it seems, he is keen to work with Disney and UTV.The untitled film for which the script is being worked out will begin at the end of this year, and will release next year.
