Tusshar Kapoor doesn’t use his surname anymore. He explains, “I don’t believe in numerology. I don’t use my surname now as my mom who believes in numerology told me to do so.”

For an actor who didn’t want to face the camera, it has been an exciting journey till now. Looking back, he says, “I did my MBA in the United States and then got a job.

I got bored with my job and quit it. I started as an assistant director to David Dhawan and he recommended me as an actor to other directors.”

Tusshar’s kitty is full this year with four films — One Two Three, Ekta Kapoor’s C Kkompany, Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Returns and Neeraj Vora’s Run Bhola Run.

Interestingly, multi-starrer films have been lucky for him till now. Talking about it, he says, “I am very comfortable in a multi-starrer film. It is fun to be a part of such films as there are many actors.” Comedy might have added more spice to his career (remember Kya Kool Hai Hum) but he just “doesn’t believe in planning his career. And I am not scared of being slotted”.

Being Jeetendra’s son, does he get special treatment on the sets? “I have never got any special treatment on the sets. I am treated the same way as other actors are,” says Tusshar who wishes to work with actress Kajol and Tabu in future.

Recently, Tusshar was in news for all those reports of his ‘back pain’ when he picked up Esha for a scene. Ask him about it and the actor takes great pain to explain, “I had to pick up Esha for a scene and there was a problem with the camera so I ended up doing the same scene 20 times. And I just said I didn’t need to do a cardio that day and would rest in the evening. However, people thought I got a back pain but there was nothing like that.”

Though One Two Three is his fourth film with actor Esha Deol, Tusshar maintains that he really enjoys working with her. “It was a very nice experience. We are working after four years but she hasn’t changed at all. There were a lot of positive vibes between us,” he says.

Ask him about his relationship with elder sister Ekta Kapoor? “We are great friends. We don’t interfere in each other’s life or career,” he says. But then does not it help being her brother?

He says, “I don’t need Ekta Kapoor. I started my career on my own. I have worked in only one of her films in the past and I am doing another one right now. And it is not Ekta who decides the hero, it is the director,” he says.

And what about daddy dearest? Tusshar says, “He is very happy about my success but he doesn’t show it. He gives tips about life in general but not on acting,” says Tusshar.

So is there a special person in his life? “I am single.” And what will be his ideal woman like? “There is nothing specific. The relationship just needs to click,” says Tusshar who doesn’t mind dating an actress as he feels there will be better understanding between the two.

May be, that will add more to his star power.
