Child actor turned Bollywood babe Hansika Motwani makes it clear at the outset that she’s no longer using the “extra” alphabets in her name and wants it simple — ‘Hansika’ once and for all.
No numerology for this 16-year-old, for the time being. A blockbuster of a debut (in 2007) later, the teenager is busy juggling books, Bollywood and Telugu films. If she was upset with Himesh Reshammiya stealing her thunder, she certainly doesn’t seem to be voicing them as she gushes, “I couldn’t have asked for more than my debut. I am very happy that I was a part of this film. I had a wonderful experience working with him.”
Life’s rather busy for Hansika who’s currently doing Money Hai Toh Honey Hai with Govinda and Aftab Shivdasani and some Telugu and Kannada films. Has the move down south been because she hasn’t been offered too many roles in Mumbai? The answer is predictable, “I am doing these films for some experience. I’ve had only one Telugu release — Deshamudru — that completed a 200-day run. I’ve just wrapped up a Kannada film Bindaas and have started work on another Telugu film, Kantri, with NTR Junior,” she adds.
How does it feel romancing an actor who is often double her age? “I’m more interested in my role than my co-star’s age,” she confesses. Besides acting, Hansika is studying in Class XI. So how does she manage school? “I study in an international school where the exam dates are flexible,” she says.
Finally what about her link-up with co-actor Aftab Shivdasani? “At the moment I am not interested in men. Anyway, I am too young for Aftab. There is nothing between us,” she reveals. Now, where have we heard this line before?
They would make the cutest pair in the tinsel town. If the sources are to be believed former child actors (of course grown-ups now) Aftab Shivdasani and Hansika Motwani are seeing each other. The pair has been spotted on numerous occasions, in Mauritius, enjoying each other’s company and generally living it up. The two actors are in Mauritius as per their shooting commitments. It so happened that one fine day, the cast and crew of the ‘Money Hai Toh Honey Hai’ began asking actress Hansikaa Motwani what actor Aftab Shivdasani was doing in her room. Shocked by the question, she tried her level best to explain that Aftab had never entered her room and that they had got it all wrong. After thirty minutes of justifications and explanations, Hansikaa was almost on the verge of tears when Govinda told her that it was just a joke they were playing on her.There is no smoke without fire, dear Hansikaa!
