Akshay Kumar is no longer the brand ambassador of IPL team Delhi Daredevils. The actor has opted out due to his busy schedule. During the first season of IPL, Akshay would regularly be present during all Delhi Daredevils matches.
When contacted Akshay Kumar confirmed and said, “Yes, I am afraid Delhi will have to rule the cricket world without me this year, much to my disappointment. But you all know me well enough. I can and will only commit myself to something that I am able to give my 100 per cent. Unfortunately, this year my schedule doesn’t permit me to be with Delhi Daredevils. But I will make sure that I watch every match of Delhi Daredevils no matter where I am. My passion for their game will be the driving force behind each of their sixes. Anyway they don’t need me; they never needed me. I was only an entertaining factor before each match. That’s all.”
Akshay Kumar’s next release will be ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ directed by Nikhil Advani, also starring Deepika Padukone.
It was a long icy gnawing emptiness when the pair which gave hits like Suneel Darshan’s Andaaz and climaxing in Abbas-Mustan’s Aitraaz stopped working with each other for reasons unknown. So deep was the cleft between the pair that Suneel Darshan had to scrap an Akshay-Priyanka starrer after a song featuring them.
But finally, after the long gap of three years, the fans of the duo were enthralled to see them together when Akshay and Priyanka performed together on stage on Thursday for Christmas at the Convention Centre in Hong Kong for a show called ‘From Chandi Chowk To Hong Kong.’ As an icing to the cake was the Bong beauty Bipasha Basu’s performance who was earlier scheduled to perform in Mumbai for New Year’s eve.
“Yes, I performed on stage with Akshay Kumar in Hong Kong. It was great fun”, says Priyanka.

Apart from a great actor and a good human being, stunt king Akshay Kumar is a loving husband too. He carries a lot of love in his heart for his wife Twinkle and owes his success to her. Though he remains busy with his shooting, he manages to find out some time for his wife and kid and very often used to take them off for a short break.
When it comes to make Twinkle happy with expensive gift, Akki does not hold back. His dearest wife Twinkle will be celebrating her birthday on 29th December and Akshay has gifted her a grand Bentley car worth Rs 3 crore.
He expressed his desire to gift her a lavish car to one of his friend and told him that he is proud of Tina and she deserved the best of everything. Akki has handed over the keys of the car to twinkle before he flew off to Hong Kong for Christmas show. On receiving such a costly gift from hubby, she was overwhelmed with joy as she was not expecting this surprise gift from him.In the tinselville where relationships are made to be broken, Akshay and Twinkle are setting an example of an ideal married couple.

When Akshay Kumar penned the lyrics ‘Everything’s gonna be alright’ for the animated flick, ‘Jumbo’, he had no clue that the lyrics would make perfect sense in today’s scenario. Says actor Akshay Kumar, “Since early November, I was feeling a bit uneasy about things.” So when the Khiladi sat down to decide the concept of the promotional video, Akshay kept stressing that the song in ‘Jumbo’ should talk about peace and keeping faith. The video was conceptualised two weeks prior to the terror attacks in Mumbai. The action-hero who will next be seen in ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ penned the lyrics for the song himself. Now, as people are doing their best to get over this crisis, Akshay Kumar hopes that people don’t lose faith in peace and humanity. He says, “It may sound cliched, but there is always light at the end of a dark tunnel.
This was my thought when we were thinking of a concept for the video, I was taken a back with the uncanny relevance it has with the situation today.”
Even as terror struck Mumbai, the unit of one of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming films continued its shooting without any interruption. This particular movie De Dhana Dhan also stars Katrina Kaif, Sameera Reddy and Suniel Shetty. The terrorists had made a sudden attack on Mumbai last Wednesday night and kept the city under siege for three ensuing days. But the cast and crew of De Dhana Dhan managed to report on the film’s sets at Mehboob studios on Thursday morning. The buzz is that the director of the film Priyadarshan had a meeting with producer Ratan Jain and the film’s leading stars, after which they all decided unanimously that they should. The director says he was overwhelmed to see the entire crew of 250 people reporting to work on Thursday morning, especially since most people in the city that day preferred to stay indoors. They continued to shoot without a break till Sunday. Many in Bollywood were shocked at how the film’s unit continued working in the midst of such high tension. The film’s actors simply maintain that work is worship and they can’t really be stopped by a couple of terrorists. The show must go on.
Must say this is remarkable and sure is one of a kind dedication towards work!
