Contrary to reports about the two stars not seeing eye to eye, Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar got along like a house on fire when they came together after 14 years to shoot the underwater thriller “Blue”.
“The last time Akshay and I worked together was in ‘Amaanat’ in 1994. And now ‘Blue’. I can see the transformation in him from then to now. It’s been a long journey for him. And in many ways, I see a reflection of my own journey.
During the two-month-long shooting schedule in Bangkok and Phuket for Anthony D’Souza’s directorial debut, the two actors bonded big time, exchanging notes in between complicated underwater sequences.
Rubbishing reports of fights with Akshay in Bangkok, Sanjay said: “Who’s spreading these rumours? Obviously some people can’t tolerate the fact that I get along with my co-stars. They want to see me fighting with my co-stars and directors. Sorry, I won’t oblige. Getting into fights with Akshay isn’t possible.
“I’m a guy who gets along with everybody. And anyone who knows me will vouch for this. Akshay is like a younger brother to me. He gives me so much respect it’s embarrassing to hear we’ve been fighting. And the way he has struggled from scratch to become a big star is exemplary,” Sanjay said.
“They also wrote that I was having a fight with director Tony in Bangkok. I was in the water most of the time while he was directing me. When do I get a chance to have a fight with anyone? If anyone is trying to spoil the party for me, let me tell these spoilsports they aren’t going to succeed. They aren’t going to be invited for my parties.”
Just one problem in this new pally scenario. The two wives - Maanyata and Twinkle Khanna - haven’t really met or hit it off with each other.
Deepika Padukone is a fast learner indeed the actress seems to have perfected the twisty diplomatic ways of B-town quite fast. The long legged lass, who gained an easy access to Bollywood’s A-list directors and actors courtesy her dream debut flick OSO opposite SRK, has now switched sides and is swearing by loyalties to ‘Kinng’ Akshay Kumar.
The actress who will be seen in an all-new avatar in her upcoming flick opposite Akshay appears to be hell bent upon impressing Akshay. Even if she needs to ditch her godfather SRK, Dips seems to have no second thoughts about it. In a desperate attempt to allure Akki, the dusky beauty said, ” I want to be the female Akshay Kumar”.
The yet to be established actress, who until now had been an active member of the SRK camp, is much too smitten by Akshay’s irresistible macho charms. Speaking or rather gloating about how the ‘khiladi’ inspires her, Dips said, ” It’s a once in a life time opportunity to do an action sequences with Akshay and I am glad I got that chance”.
Akshay Kumar is not a new name for Hollywood. The actor has already paired with Hollywood stars like Denise Richards, Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh etc. Going a step further, Akki is supposedly all set to sing along with supermodel, actress and singer Naomi Campbell in a duet for the animated movie ‘Jumbo’.
Naomi has acted in the movie ‘Miami Rhapsody’ earlier and is set to appear in another Hollywood movie with an Indian touch- ‘Karma, Confessions and Holi’ which also features Randeep Hooda and Sushmita Sen.
Khiladi Kingg Kumar is not behind with many projects in toe. His ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ is coming up in January. Also in progress are ‘Kambakht Ishq’, ‘Blue’, ‘Eight by Ten’ and Deepa Mehta’s ‘Komagata Maru’, which tells the story of the historic voyage and challenge to Canadian immigration laws early in the 20th century.

The Khiladi Akshay Kumar has done it again. This time he has done a jaw-dropping stunt for Nagesh Kukunoor’s new action venture ‘Eight By Ten’.
The stunt has Akshay running to the edge of a cliff situated at the dizzy height of around 160 feet and then taking a dive into the water below. Akshay did the shot without a duplicate in just one take, stunning everyone in the unit, including the director. While the entire crew was terrified, Akshay was pretty cool about it.
