Though Shah Rukh Khan is the craze among Polish youth, it was Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic romance Jodhaa Akbar that charmed cinegoers during a month-long Hindi film festival held across 12 places in Poland, a country that has a surprisingly large number of Bollywood fans.
If the majestic beauty of Jodhaa Akbar, which had Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in the lead, impressed film buffs, Aparna Sen’s Mr. and Mrs. Iyer also left a deep impression on audiences during the fest called ‘Ticket to Bollywood’.
“Jodhaa Akbar gives us a few glimpses of the medieval history of India. All these years we were glued to the beauty of the Taj Mahal alone. When Akshay Kumar penned the lyrics ‘Everything’s gonna be alright’ for the animated flick, ‘Jumbo’, he had no clue that the lyrics would make perfect sense in today’s scenario. Says actor Akshay Kumar, “Since early November, I was feeling a bit uneasy about things.” So when the Khiladi sat down to decide the concept of the promotional video, Akshay kept stressing that the song in ‘Jumbo’ should talk about peace and keeping faith. The video was conceptualised two weeks prior to the terror attacks in Mumbai. The action-hero who will next be seen in ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ penned the lyrics for the song himself. Now, as people are doing their best to get over this crisis, Akshay Kumar hopes that people don’t lose faith in peace and humanity. He says, “It may sound cliched, but there is always light at the end of a dark tunnel.
This was my thought when we were thinking of a concept for the video, I was taken a back with the uncanny relevance it has with the situation today.”
You guys better believe this… Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao still hasn’t been able to watch her hubby Aamir Khan’s latest flick ‘Ghajini’ directed by AR Murugadoss, and also starring Asin.
And this piece of news comes straight from the horse’s mouth. “I haven’t been involved in the making of ‘Ghajini’ at all, and I’m yet to watch the movie. I have heard it has taken a record breaking opening,” grins Kiran Rao.
And on the other hand, Aamir Khan says that he hasn’t been able to get ‘Ghajini’ tickets for even his relatives and friends who want to see the action-thriller so badly. Yes Aamir, we believe you, even though it sounds a little over the top.
