During the 53rd Filmfare Awards, SRK and Kareena posed with their black ladies backstage for a perfect photo opportunity, if there ever was one. However, long before they got to hold the Black Lady in their hands, it was pretty clear that SRK and Kareena were the hot favourites. SRK, of course, was nominated for the Best Actor category in both ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Chak De’, while Kareena’s was nominated for her performance as Geet in ‘Jab We Met’, which had award winning performance written all over it. After winning the award, both Sharukh Khan and Kareena were deliriously happy. When quizzed on winning an award in the popular category, Kareena said:”I am glad that I have got this award in popular category through votes. I would like to thank all my fans for it.” While tongue firmly in cheek, Sharukh Khan said:”I love Filmfare and I am thankful to Adi Yash Chopra, Farah Khan, among others.” On being quizzed on the Badshah of Bollywood being pitted being against the nine-year old — Darsheel Safary — who delivered a powerful performance in ‘Taare Zameen Par’, SRK was at his generous best and even offered to give the award to Darsheel. “He is wonderful. If it was left to me, I would have given this award to Darsheel. He is like my son and I would love him to win awards. Actually, it is Darsheel’s award and my wife and son have told me that he has acted very well, he should take it. But then, he has got many more years to win award than I have,” added Sharukh Khan. Well considering that Darsheel won an award for the Best Actor -Critics category, SRK finally didn’t have to part with it. Well it seems that SRK certainly had his share of Bollywood’s hottest couple — Saif and Kareena –especially after spending half the evening cracking up the audience with Saif, SRK got to share his winning moment with Kareena. It looked like three’s a company — for the Badhshah Bebo and the Chote Nawab.

Deepika Padukone, the glamourous girl who won everyone’s hearts with her debut in Om Shanti Om, is extremely thrilled. The actress has been not just nominated in the ‘Best Debut (Female) category, but also in the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Female)’ category for the 53rd Fairone Filmfare Awards. Since it is not often that a debutant receives such a grand welcome from the industry, Deepika is glad that she has got it. And to top it all, the actress will also be putting together an on-stage performance at the Filmfare Awards function. Sharing her mood with movies.indiatimes, Deepika said, “I am very happy that my first on-stage performance is going to be for the Filmfare Awards. It is one function that I have grown up watching as a kid and I never thought that I would reach so far one day. Filmfare is a great platform and I am thankful to Farah Khan for giving me my debut role.” And while Deepika is excited about her first Filmfare night, we asked her how she rates her performance in OSO and who she thinks are her competitors in the ‘lead’ category. This is what Ms. Padukone had to say, “I am glad that I have been nominated in two categories and the credit goes to Farah and the entire OSO team. As far as my performance is concerned, I don’t know. It is for others to tell me. Talking about competition, I found Aishwarya just superb in Guru and I think she very well deserved the award. Also, Kareena was fabulous in Jab We Met.” Yes, we agree with Ms. Padukone. She does face strong competition from the cat-eyed beauties, Ash and Bebo.
