Himesh Reshammiya is playing a fan of none other than Aamir Khan in John Matthew Matthan’s A New Love Ishtory. In the film, Himesh is so busy worshipping Aamir that he impersonates Aamir’s character Munna in the Urmila starrer Rangeela. Our source said, “Himesh’s character is a stuntman called Sikander alias Sukku bhai in A New Love Ishtory and is shown using colloquial Mumbai lingo just like Aamir did in Rangeela.” Himesh we hear will be wearing Munna’s colourful clothes including the infamous yellow shirt. In fact, the locals from Amboli village where Himesh just completed a 15-day schedule are also helping Himesh speak in true tapori syle. When contacted, Himesh confirmed and said, “Yes. I am really enjoying the experience.” “I have discovered that I have a flair for comedy and although I play rather intense characters in my other films like Karzzzz and Kajraa Re, comedy is definitely my forte,” he added. In A New Love Ishtory, Himesh woos a rich businesswoman played by Niharika Singh. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar.

Himesh Reshammiya is now all set to act in a comedy titled Gujju Bhai. It will feature the singer-turned-actor in a Gujarati avatar — a goofy do-gooder who gets into all sorts of strange and satirical situations.It is learnt that Himesh will again change his look, hair and wardrobe for the character. Says a source, “Himesh is a pucca Gujarati at heart and this will be his tribute to his community.So far all his acting projects have been designed to highlight his abilities to sing, dance and perform on stage. Gujju Bhai will be his first character-driven story with the focus on acting, rather than singing and performing on stage.” Work now, fun later
Satish Kaushik, who is known for his comic sense, both as an actor and director, has been roped in to direct Gujju Bhai for the producers, TV 18. Satish is reluctant to talk about Himesh’s tryst with hilarity. “Right now we’re focusing on completing Karzzzz. We plan to release it in October, and we’re working full-throttle to beat the deadline.The songs that Himesh has created for the film have to be heard to be believed. As for his acting abilities, Himesh is going to surprise his critics.”Apart from Karzzzz, Himesh also features in Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh, Kajra Re and Love Isshtory that are in various stages of production.
A gangster’s audacious escape from an Uttar Pradesh jail on Monday is giving Bollywood singer Himesh Reshammiya sleepless nights. That’s because the gangster, Anees Radiowala, was arrested last year for allegedly planning to kill Himesh and director Raj Kumar Santoshi.Radiowala had recently furnished a bond in a local court for his release but even before the UP police could verify the documents he somehow walked free from Barabanki jail. It now turns out that all the documents furnished by Radiowala are forged. Radiowala is a key man of the Lakdawala gang and his escape in such a manner is cause for concern. These gangsters had definite plans to kill Reshammiya and Santoshi,”Amitabh Yash, senior superintendent of police, (SSP), UP Special Task Force (STF) told Mumbai Mirror from Lucknow.It was Yash’s team that had arrested Radiowala along with three others from Dewa Road inUP’s Barabanki district. The director was overwhelmed with joy when producer Bhushan Kumar and his wife Divya Khosla Kumar surprised him by throwing a surprise birthday bash for him on the sets of his mega-venture ‘Karzzzz’ at Cinevistaas Studios, Kanjunmarg .
Recentley when Asha Bhosle was asked to give her take on reality shows she said, “I never watch any reality shows because I don’t have time and nor am I interested in watching a fake drama! The contestants act and dance more than displaying their singing talent! I don’t like all that. During our days, singers like me, Lata, Rafi, Kishore Kumar actually took efforts to learn Urdu just so that we can get our pronunciations right! Besides even established singers today don’t take any pains to actually understand the lyrics, language … anything! Just wearing a cap and singing is not singing!”
When quizzed if she was referring to Himmesh, the veteran singer said, “I don’t want to talk about this issue again. I guess I have already made my point.”
Himmesh had apologized to Asha Bhosle last year on the sets Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, where both Himmesh and Asha Bhossle were present as judges.
