Karan Johar complimented host Farhan Akhtar by calling him “pretty” while recording for the fun-with-a-celeb show Oye! It’s Friday.Farhan thought Karan was talking about Shamita Shetty who was also on the show.”But Karan clarified he was calling Farhan pretty. At first Farhan didn’t know how to react. But then he quickly caught hold of himself - he’s not acknowledged now as a terrific actor for nothing - and then the rest of the show became an impromptu Dostana with Farhan and Karan doing what John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan did in the film,” a source close to the show said.To add to the ‘gay’ atmosphere, Kantaben (Sulabha Arya), who trembled with homophobia all through Shah Rukh Khan- Saif Ali starrer Kal Ho Naa Ho, was brought in as a phone-in friend.”And they asked her what she thought of Dostana. Sulabha said she loved it. She raved about the film for a while. Only later did Karan and Farhan realise the lady was talking about the old Dostana with Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha,” the source revealed.
At some point, Farhan wanted to know who among the actors were Karan’s 3 a.m. friends. “And Karan laughed. He said he would never call any star so early in the morning because you never know what they’d be doing at that time Throughout the show Karan joked openly about Dostana, homophobic people, John’s physique, etc. Lately, he has been showing a great deal of comfort with matters of sex and sexuality. It shows in his cinema and in his public conduct and utterances” the source added.
The much entertaining multi-starrer flick has won praises primarily for it’s storyline and the entertainment box’ up for an assured fun filled experience.
Hot Shilpa Shetty is all set to Shut Up and Bounce. Yes that’s the song of Tarun Mansukhani’s Dostana that has just come on air. Director Karan Johar said that Tarun and he and his entire team brainstormed tossing names of actresses who would be apt for the item.”We finally zeroed in on Shilpa because she has the best body in town,” Karan said. Karan added, “Shilpa has done a fantastic job but credit also goes to choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant and music directors Vishal Shekhar. Shilpa’s number will be the introductory song along John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan.”Tarun said, “Shilpa was comfortable wearing anything for the song. We were to shoot the song in seven day but completed in four days flat.”Shilpa agreed to be a part of Dostana immediately because not only was it a Karan Johar production; it also had her favorite team of designer Manish Malhotra, Mickey Contractor for the make up and Latika for her hair.
