Featuring a young and hot star cast, like Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Anil Kapoor, the film as a lot going for it as acting talent. It has been shot in exotic locales ranging from Dubai to Durban. The multistarrer is especially notable for its action thrills. Abbas Mustan has endowed it with some characteristic adrenaline pumping action in what is being touted as their most stylish and fast paced product. It is a story of murder, deceit, adultery and theft set against the backdrop of horse racing, providing an ideal plot from the Abbas Mustan stable. “It’s a commercial film. Full of twists and turns, the plot is the hero of it. Where nothing is what it seems. It keeps you guessing and its fun,” according to Saif Ali Khan. “Race is about insurance fraud, murder, adultery, deceit, insider trading gambling, lies and racing…pretty much a normal day in Abbas Mustan’s life,” he quipped. The stunts are amazing and a veritable treat for action lovers. Action scenes have been enacted with a lot of care and planning. Saif and co-stars have had a lot of jumping to do-off buildings, vehicles etc. “To dive off a 30th floor, to me, is a big thing. But, we did it three-four times and afterwards it was fun. I enjoyed the cable work. There is a lot of falling off buildings, jumping off buildings, diving off. I think my character seems to love jumping off heights,” said Saif, Saif and his costars are pretty confident about the movie with its powerful dialogues and racy stunts. Akshay Khanna has always been lucky with Abbas Mustan. Katrina Kaif has just had a hit filled year in 2007.Action director Allan Amin is fresh from the experience of the hit Dhoom series. Composer Preetam has already hit the top spot with three songs ‘ Sanson Ki’, ‘Pehli Nazar Mein’ and ‘Zara Zara’. And Saif is the man of the moment in Bollywood. The film, which will hit screens on March 21, is also being dubbed into Tamil and Telugu and will release simultaneously across the country along with the Hindi version of the film.

Dhoom III on cards
Dhoom III is on cards but this time its not Sanjay who will direct this movie but Aditya Chopra. Yes the ace director will be back on the hot seat after six years. His last film was Mohabbatein. And guess what who is in- The King Khan Shahrukh will play the negative role in Dhoom III- and that, I think will be a hit role as for SRK’s immense affinity for being a hero in a negative role. But I wonder what Saif is going to do in the movie- will he be a threat to Abhishek? But believe me it will be a tragedy to break Abhishek and Uday’s chemistry. Amir is no more on the cards and Ash as predicted will be there in the third film too.
If the reports are to be believed, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar has fetched co-producer and presenter, UTV Motion Pictures, a whopping Rs 90 crore for the rights. The magnum opus toplining Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, reportedly cost Rs 50 crore, though Gowariker has gone on record to say that the official budget is Rs 40 crore.Wise option “It’s a good deal for UTV,” says a source. “They had chosen to hold their rights for Gowariker’s earlier film Swades and rued the decision. Despite winning critical acclaim, the movie had not made much money.” ” That’s why they chose to sell the domestic rights of Rang de Basanti to other distributors, retaining only the overseas territory. It proved to be a sound business strategy and they’re staying with it for Jodhaa Akbar too.”
Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Executive Vice-President, Marketing, Syndicate, Distribution, UTV, when contacted, refused to confirm the news. “No comments,” was all that he said.

Darsheel Safary, the wonder kid of Taare Zameen Par, insists that he is the hero of the film so why should he be chosen for the Best Child Actor category by a weekly trade paper for its annual film awards this year? Shoma A Chatterji tries to find out whether the child actor is a hero, a victim exploited by his family and the film’s publicity machine, or an unwilling martyr to media-hype… It’s amusing to discover the contradiction. A boy who does not understand what ‘jury award’ means refuses the ‘best child actor’ award. Is his response spontaneous? Or did his parents and family doctor it? Why weren’t they questioned about the child’s decision? Where were they when the boy, whose final exams are round the corner, was being interviewed by every news channel that jumped on the story for its ‘man-bites-dog’ element of sensation? Darsheel has been the media’s favourite lollipop ever since Taare Zameen Par hit the screens across the country. He has been giving TV and press interviews left, right and centre, appearing at press conferences and generally having a whale of a time. Shouldn’t he be getting back to where he belongs – to his parents and his school and his games of football and cricket? Should he be questioned about whether girls’ attitude towards him has changed? Or, whether he likes girls or not, again and again? By the simple logic of a child’s mindset, Darsheel ought to have been thrilled by the twin awards bestowed on him for his first ever film role. But no sir, he is not a normal child. The media has seen to that. He insists by suggestion that he would have been happy had he won the Best Actor award that went to Shah Rukh Khan! The media just laps it up in sound bytes that may have overwhelmed you had you not been so shocked at its blatant violation of the simple ethics of letting a child remain a child.
Guys Taare Zameen Par is a movie worth watching. In the past, movies were made not just for entertainment but to convey a meaningful lesson. However, the present movies are made only for visual and auditory pleasure. There is no meaning in nowadays movies or any lesson to carry back home. Taare Zameen Par broke all boundaries. The movie has touched every soul seated in the theatre and there is hardly anyone who was left unmoved by the story. Schools have made it a point to ensure that both Teachers and Students watch this movie. This movie has given a boost to psychological research on effective teaching methods on the other hand.No silly dances around the rain or sexy scenes, yet this movie captivates one completely, touching a chord in each one’s heart. There may be many out there who did not agree to my statements, you are free to disagree about what was being said. Those of you who liked the movie can share what and which part of the movie touched you the most.
