And SRK’s got the thumbs up for his hip hop number Just Run Run Run from friends and family. Everyone, from Juhi Chawla to Arjun Rampal, Manish Malhotra and Karan Johar, who heard the song on Sunday when the Knight Riders took on the Deccan Chargers, swear that he sings as well as he acts. Composer Bappi Lahiri, too, is confident that it’s going to be a super hit. “It’s a solo and has been penned by Birag Mishra. Shah Rukh will shoot for a video after this. He’s very sincere. That’s why the song’s turned out so well,” says Bappi.

Initially, Khan was a little unsure about singing for his team. “But I thought his voice suited the song. Besides, I take credit for bringing together Kishore Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan in a song called Jaha Char Yar Mil Jaye in Sharabi. So I told him, ‘Aap kyun nahin gayenge?’ He’s the heartthrob of the world after all,” gushes Bappida.

The composer, who sang just one line for Om Shanti Om called OK, OK, says, “I share a great rapport with both Shah Rukh and Farah Khan. SRK’s a great human being and like a brother to me. I was by his side when he recorded the song.”

They didn’t have to rehearse much. “Just two hours was enough. Before that, I recorded the song and sent it to him for practice,” says Bappida. As for the other two songs he composed, Bappida says, “One’s a Bengali song called Anondo Anondo Re sung by Usha Uthup, the other’s a remix sung by Kunal Ganjawala.”
