Priyanka Chopra who definitely would be in seventh sky after the success of movies, ‘Fashion’ and ‘Dostana’ gained a new feather added to her when she was named as ‘Goddess of Atlantis’ to represent the new resort Atlantis, The Palms in Dubai! She was decked out at the grand start of ‘Atlantis Rising,’ fireworks that was organized to launch the resort and the event was organized by same company which managed fireworks event at Beijing Olympics.
She was joined at the event by other stars from Hollywood including Denzel Washington, Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan, Gerard Butler, Janet Jackson, Lily Allen and Michael Jordan. Some of the richest business family from India including Ambanis, Moranis, and Hindujas were presented at the party.
Priyanka encountered with many gay characters in the recently released Fashion. Even Mugdha Godse, one of the female lead actors in the film, is married to a gay. As if that was not enough, Priyanka has to deal with gays in the film Dostana, which is releasing today.
The news is doing the rounds that lead actors John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan are playing gay characters in Dostana produced by Karan Johar and directed by Tarun Mansukhani.
The actor rubbishes reports about her having a cosmetic surgery and says she might take legal action against the doctor who spread the news, reports PRITHWISH GANGULY. Recently a television channel aired a programme in which a doctor held up one of Priyanka Chopra’s old pictures and explained what kind of surgeries she might have undergone to get her recent sizzling look. This hasn’t gone down too well with Priyanka and she says she might take legal action against the doctor or the channel.“We might take some legal action. We are seeing if people are picking this up,” Priyanka told After Hrs.This former Miss World also says that she really gets upset hearing or seeing ‘false news’ about her. “It does affect me. I feel sad that people who write such things do not understand that though I’m a celebrity for them but I’m someone’s daughter, relative or neighbour. So, when they write such things about me or my personal life, which are not true, they fail to realise that it may affect my parents who might be reading what they wrote the next day,” she says.
She adds, “I understand that we are celebrities and people want to know everything about us, but this is not right. You can’t marry me off to someone one day, make me go through a break-up and even write that I have done a crime just because you want to make news.”Priyanka has also made news recently as some papers claimed that she and her Fashion co-star Kangana were not getting along well with each other. Apparently Kangana was not happy with Priyanka getting all the limelight. “There is no truth behind this news. I have to deny this news now because people will keep on writing about it. People like these mirch masalas – two girls working together cannot be friends. I’m not saying that Kangana and I are back-slapping buddies, but we really get along well and she was tremendous in Fashion,” says Priyanka. These issues, notwithstanding, Priyanka has lots to smile as Fashion set the cash registers ringing and she was also appreciated for her performance.

Adding to another fine feather in her cap, Fashion star Priyanka Chopra drops by at Fame Adlabs to meet doting fans. With the idea of promoting the film pretty Priyanka, along with co-star Mugdha Godse visited her fans at Fame Adlabs that was screening Fashion.
‘Fashion’, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar of ‘Corporate’ and ‘Page 3′ fame, is running successfully all over India. Here are few pics of the gorgeous fashion idols at the press episode.
Fashion” was expected to expose the cold realities of India’s fashion industry, but it ends up revealing Madhur Bhandarkar’s limitations as a writer and director.Just like his last two films, “Corporate” and “Traffic Signal”, in “Fashion” too Bhandarkar skims the surface instead of digging deep. For those who are aware of his style of filmmaking, it is a predictable narrative.
The movie, touted as his costliest and most glamorous so far, is said to be doing well at the box office. But it doesn’t go into the heart of the industry, such as the business aspect, the intricate backstage work that goes into shows and aspects of design.“Fashion” shows modelling as a dazzling profession on the outside but as brutal from inside and this is one of the drawbacks of the film. Every profession has its merits and demerits and perhaps the director shouldn’t have demonised modelling the way he has done in the movie.
Another problem with the storyline is that despite being successful, the two starry-eyed girls from small towns played by Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut are often shown as leading miserable personal lives - a cliche if there ever was one.Kangana, whose character is reportedly modelled on real life model Geetanjali Nagpal, is a high-profile model with loads of attitude. She indulges in drugs, leading to her downfall. Priyanka too goes through the same.
