The year 2008 was suposed to follow in the footsteps of 2007, which had seen some very good films.
As the first few months went by, it became apparent that there were not many hits in the offing. While some movies did turn out to be hits, others which were expected to do good business could not meet box-office expectations.
But most disappointing was the fact that a majority of the releases were complete duds. Some hit releases in 2008’s first half include Rajat Kapoor’s mob comedy, Mithya, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mughal Era extravaganza, Jodhaa-Akbar and Abbas-Mustan’s sleek stew, Race with its heady mix of horses, cars, babes and storyline twists.
So why did these movies do well, while their counterparts sank at the BO? “It is the content that worked. A lot of people were sceptical about the film’s success, since it was a historical. But fabulous performances, music and the correct marketing made it a hit,” feels Siddharth Roy Kapoor, whose production house brought out Jodhaa-Akbar . But there was a bigger cause as to why even those movies who could have done well, flopped: the IPL. “Movies such as U, Me Aur Hum and Bhootnath could have done well. But the IPL ensured otherwise,” says trade analyst, Taran Adarsh.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s relationship is worsening day by day. Their romance may have run its race with Kareena finding Saif’s unceasing attention oppressive rather that thrilling.
According to our source, insecure Saif keeps calling Kareena on her mobile to keep tab on her and recently while the two were in a party Saif even didn’t let Kareena chat with her female friends.
This disturbed Kareena so much that she asked Saif to leave the party saying that his attention suffocated her.
Well, it’s really hard to understand this pretty lady since she had gone through a similar kind of problem in her past relationship with Shahid Kapoor. Over there, Kareena was the insecure one while Shahid was a chilled out guy.
We would have to wait and see how this relationship shapes up in the coming future. Meanwhile looking at their past we all know that both Saif and Kareena carry a baggage of failed relationships.
What better way of treating the lead actor of the film that arranging a special screening for exclusively him and his beau. That is what Kunal Kohli has done for his ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’. He invited Saif and his new found love Kareena Kapoor for the special screening of this Saif-Rani Mukherjee starrer at Yashraj Studios. After this, Kohli also arranged another screening for Rani Mukherjee who loved the film no less than Saif did.
‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ tells the story of four orphans who hate Saif. Rani plays an angel who wants to bring love into the kids’ lives, but the irony is that she can’t love. Co-produced by Kohli himself, ‘TPTM’ is set for release on June 27.

With Kareena Kapoor being the reigning cover queen, how could beau Saif Ali Khan be left behind? So, now we have Nawab Khan on the covers of the latest edition of the lifestyle magazine ‘Man’s World’.
The dition has Saif tlak about his life and more about his career, the parameters that he considers while signing a film, the vibes et al, his 3-part career path, his films gone by, his kind of roles, his world-famous tattoo and much more!
Going by the killer looks of Saif Ali Khan, one does wonder who is luckier among Saif and Kareena. Saif for getting Kareena as his arm candy or Kareena for having Saif in her grip?

The Chote Nawab might allege that the media has a deliberate agenda against him and his arm candy Kareena, but you cannot blame them because Saif and Bebo seem to be the flavour of the season.
If the onlookers of Zee Cine Awards are to be believed, both Saif and Kareena were all over each other in London.
So much so, that there was no dearth of PDA. They could barely keep their hands off each other.
They even went as far as requesting the organizers to book them a hotel which was far away from the hotel where the rest of the guests were putting up.
Although their Tashan might have failed to sizzle on screen, but surely the off screen chemistry is piping hot and creating a lot of ripples.
