Interview with Nisha Kothari: “It feels nice to be a sex symbol”
Thursday, July 20, 2006
“It feels nice to be a sex symbol,” says sexy babe Nisha Kothari who is busy making inroads into the hit factory of Bhatt Camp. It is not as if he is not getting enough work from mentor Ram Gopal Verma. Maybe she is hungry for success as her debut film ‘James’ sank without a trace at the Box Office. So, will ‘Killer’, her big release this week prove to be her stepping stone is the question? She is excited about this thriller where she is paired opposite serial kisser Emraan Hashmi. Both of them are stalked by a professional hit man Irfan Khan in a span of one night. Playing a bar dancer in the film, she is busy earning whistles for her dare bare song ‘Abhi Toh Main Jawaan Hoon’. IndiaGlitz indulged in a quick-fix video interview especially for our patrons the world over. Below is the transcript of that interview:

How different is Ram Gopal Verma

Well, it is not so different. As an actor you have to perform before the camera and express in your emotions, your feelings. The banner is different. Yes, I felt happy. I felt lucky to work with a highly reputed banner. And when you work with professionals you feel happy.

It had been said that Emraan Hashmi is trying to change his serial kisser image in ‘Killer’. So is there a surprise?

It is a surprise for all of you because there is a great surprise at the end of the movie.

What do you think is the USP of ‘Killer’?

USP of the film I’ll say is great dialogues. All put together it is a very entertaining film. And the movement of the film is very rapid. It is a very colourful and energetic film.

What is it that makes you such a fine dancer?

I always wanted to be an actress. So I started trying from school. Since then I’ve been learning dance. I hope I live up to everybody’s expectations.

What are your forthcoming films?

Shiva, directed by Ram Gopal Verma ji, where I play a journalist.

Is it a remake of your own ‘James’?

No, it is a completely new film. Only the name ‘Shiva’ belongs to one of his older films. But actually it is a completely different film. I can’t say it is a remake because as an actor I played a model in ‘James’ and in ‘Shiva’ I play a journalist.

How does it feel at being called a sex symbol?

(Laughs) It feels nice….
